Chess Club  |
Chess makes you smart! Our program divides the students by ability so that no one is bored or intimidated and everyone feels welcome. Chess is fun, and playing the game teaches responsibility, improves discipline, and sharpens thinking skills. Students are encouraged to compete in local chess tournaments throughout the year. Grades K - 5.

Chinese  |
Students will learn be introduced to Mandarin Chinese and will also learn about Chinese culture, holidays and customs. Students will learn simple language, songs and characters. There will Chinese related arts and crafts activities. This club is only open to those students currently enrolled.

Everybody Rocks
|
Come rock it out at co-ed rock band class. Kids play music together from the first day onward and are immersed in group learning. Old and new music is introduced as well as a variety of musical instruments. The semester end is celebrated with a Rock Band concert sharing the student’s enthusiasm and knowledge with the school. Grades K - 3. Spring registration ONLY open to current students and those who participated in the club during this school year.

Hip Hop Dance  |
Come learn some of the hottest Hip Hop dance moves with Urban Beat Dance! Students will have a blast dancing in this fun and friendly environment. Grades K - 3.

Lego Club  |
Calling all Lego lovers and builders! We have Legos galore.....over 100 pounds of them! Each week there will be two special Lego projects; one group project like building an enormous tower, getting in it and imploding it and one individual project. A brick world of fun awaits for all ages!

Mad Science  |
Come have a crazy time with science! Kindergartners, join us for exciting hands-on science exploration designed especially for younger scientists. Topics include Colorful Colors, Science of Music, Space Frontiers and more!
Grades 1-5, Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in the NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers After School Program. It's bound to be an experience that is truly out of this world!

Skyline Studio  |
Classes will feature songs, dances, and scenes from various well-known Broadway musicals. Classes will improve communication skills, self-esteem, and encourage students to explore their own creative voices. Skyline inspires a love for the performing arts. All who are involved will have the opportunity to perform in a culminating showcase at the end of the session. Grades 1 - 5.

Hola! This 30 week full immersion class, taught by Language Stars, provides a hands on curriculum with fun activities including games, music and movement, and arts and crafts. The teaching methodology used targets students’ unique ability to absorb a foreign language naturally through engaging activities. Classes are available for K-2nd and 3rd-5th grades. Spring registration ONLY open to current students and those who participated in the club during this school year.

Taekwondo  |
The Connelly’s Academy Taekwondo Club provides a unique opportunity for every child to learn martial arts in a fun, non-competitive way that builds focus, fitness and self-confidence. Expert instruction is provided by Grand Master Connelly and his experienced Youth Program leaders. Beginners and continuing Taekwondo students are both welcome! The class will focus on general physical training, kicking, punching, breathing exercises and sparing. Students will have the opportunity to have a fun, safe and rewarding Martial Arts experience while building self control and esteem, courtesy, integrity and perseverance. Grades K - 5. Learn how to make an Android phone come alive with your own apps! Working in teams, learn step-by-step how to use Google's App Inventor software to write your own voice recognition app, remote controller, compass, altimeter, and more! Grades 3 - 5.

Tennis  |
Learn to play tennis via the "Quick Start" method from the United States Tennis Association. Classes are taught by trained staff from the Evanston Tennis Park District staff (E Town). "Quick Start" tennis is taught on a modified court using four different types of balls depending on a players' strength and ability. In addition, participants are placed on courts by age and ability. All tennis basics from stroke production to sportsmanship are taught and emphasized. Kids will learn the fundamentals of the game and will have several motor developing skills taught to increase their enjoyment. Fun games will be played at the end of each lesson in a non-competitive atmosphere. Grades K - 5.

Yoga  |
Ready- set- flow.........move and stretch with JOY! Yoga is a great way to start your day as it will energize your child and create a feeling of well being as they move through their day. Yoga is a practice for all ages and abilities and no one need to feel that they have to have any experience or previous movement instruction to receive all of the benefits of yoga. The age groups are divided so that the movement and technique are appropriate for the level of body awareness and concentration and relaxation. All classes will emphasize proper posture, breathing, concentration and relaxation as well as increasing awareness of our human connection to the planet and each other. So whether your 5years old or 50, yoga will get your body moving and stretching and flowing. Grades K - 5. Spring registration ONLY open to current

Young Rembrandts

Learn through the power of drawing. Children will sharpen their fine motor skills, listening skills and build on drawing skills while having fun. Classes will teach children fundamental art techniques and vocabulary. Student’s creativity and imagination will be expanded to create unique and individual works of art. Grades K - 3.
