Extracurricular Activities

Lincolnwood Elementary is home to many outstanding enrichment and extracurricular programs, including those listed below.

Books & Breakfast
Books & Breakfast is a M-F before-school program offering a nutritious breakfast, homework assistance, and emotional care to Lincolnwood students in need of additional support. B&B exists so that every student enters their classroom physically, emotionally, and academically prepared.

Before/After-School Care
Otherwise known as School-Age Child Care (SACC), this program offers before and after-school care options for students in kindergarten-5th grade.

MESA - Middle Eastern, East Asian, South Asian Club
MESA meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 3:45-4:30 pm. Try Asian snacks, read books by AAPI authors, learn about AAPI experiences, and identity mapping. Email Ami Shah-Travis at shaha@district65.net and/or Joyce Anderson at joycecanderson@gmail.com

Black Girl Magic Book Club
The Black Girl Magic Book Club is open to any and all interested 3rd - 5th grade students. Join us for a year-long exploration of books while reflecting on our own stories and identity development to build positive self-esteem, self-image, and self-worth!

Readers Theatre
“Readers Theatre is a fun and creative way for a group to present a book or story to an audience with no set, no costumes, and no props—you read it, your audience imagines it! This activity runs in the spring on select mornings before school with a final performance for family and friends. 2nd through 5th graders are welcome to join. Contact Michael Dice with questions. (michaeldicejr@gmail.com)”

4th and 5th Grade Fall, Winter, and Spring Athletics
Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, District 65 and the City of Evanston are excited to partner together to provide increased access to youth athletics programming. Participating in athletics provides opportunities for students to get physical activity, develop relationships with peers, learn the importance of teamwork, build self-esteem, learn valuable life skills, and more!

Right At School Electives
Electives are held before and after school at all District 65 elementary and magnet schools.

Orchestra and Band
Students in 4th and 5th grade have the option to join band or orchestra. Weekly rehearsals take place during the school day and students will sometimes be pulled out of academic classes.

Chorus
Chorus is composed of 4th and 5th-grade students who work with Ms. Saavedra once a week before or after school. The chorus performs multiple times throughout the year.
